Since you are not having a good work experience because of this individual's work experience, there are a number of steps that may make this a better experience all around.
In the first place, if his actions are creating problems for your other employees, it will be important to do more than tell him that he needs to make some changes. He needs to see the specific problems that his techniques are causing, and then be given specific guidance on techniques that he should be using.
At the same time, presumably one of the reasons why you hired this individual was his experience. Since you are now paying for it, you should meet with this individual to discuss his thoughts about the most effective ways to carry out his job responsibilities.
While some of his approaches may indeed be all wrong for your company, it is also all wrong to overlook an employee who may have some very productive ideas.
