It's time for your associate to stop playing doctor and start playing employee. Regardless of his intentions, his medical comments are neither solicited nor appreciated, and he is not even qualified to make them. The information he picks up from the Internet and television in no way qualifies him to render medical opinions to anyone on any health issue.
The next time he dispenses a medical opinion, tell him that you appreciate his interest, but you do not want any more medical advice from him. You have your own medical doctor who monitors your health, and that is just fine for you. Your fellow employees should take the same action. If this does not work, several of you should meet with this employee to deliver the same message.
It is very nice that he is concerned about everyone's health and wants his fellow employees to feel better. He needs to understand that all of you will feel better when he stops forcing his diagnoses on everyone. If he requires a second opinion before changing his treatment plan, you should have a consult with your manager.
